-- Christmas was EXHAUSTING! We did SOOOO much driving! I will NEVER do that again!! Although, we did have fun with family... traveling with an 8 month old isn't my idea of Christmas vacation... Alice loved stopping sooo much that we did it every 2.5 hours...
She loved opening her presents though! Once we finally pulled her toys out she gave them about 1 second of her time and then went back to demolishing the bag...
Alice loves kitties! Has time to fall asleep in the car on the way to church and can swing in nothing but a onesie two days before Christmas... I love Texas!
Spencer's mom and George helped Alice and I buy a plane ticket home so that we wouldn't have to spend another 3 days driving back to Utah! I am glad I only had to deal with a 3.5 hr plane ride... but the guy next to me was a JERK!! I was so close to punching him... I secretly wished that Alice would have spit up on him... But she apparently can't spit up on command. That is a story for another day, but after we settled in the air I was allowed to change seats... I am so glad the flight attendant took pity on me... although, I think it was because she adored Alice that she let me do it, haha!
-- Spencer applied to the Air Force! We have hopes that he will get in, but we won't find out 'til SEPTEMBER!!!! This all started at the beginning of his last year of college. He was originally applying for a technical job, but they capped... sooo he has opted to proceed with the application process in hopes that he will "land" a flight career... haha get it?! Although, I think he will find out if he qualifies to be a pilot by March... at least, that is when the application process would have to be done for him to stand in the running to be a pilot. Needless to say, we are sort of putting grad school off one semester in case he gets in. And I don't know if I can spend this hiatus in Utah... so I am trying to drag us back to Texas! Austin to be exact...
-- Alice can crawl, clap, and say "Mama" "Dada" "Baba" "Nana" and a few other variations of these sounds... She can also gurgle.. haha, she loves doing that! She has her two bottom middle teeth and more threatening to come through! She has learned that a blood curdling scream gets us to go into her room and pick her up out of concern for her well-being... so we stopped doing that, and she is getting easier to put down for naps and bedtime again... Oh she started chewing on her crib! I didn't catch it until this had gone on a few days. I was wiping her nose and mouth and noticed all this little brown specs on the tissue... only to find out that the back of the dropside had all these little teeth marks where she stands in her crib... I don't have a picture though :(
She is climbing too! She loves to explore floor vents, extension cords, plugs... anything somewhat detrimental to her well-being and she's so there!
And loud things like our Shark and vacuum, and even Spencer's electric razor and my blow dryer, scare the bejeezes out of Alice.
-- Valentine's Day was very special for me! Spencer made me homemade truffles!! I love them!! He rebound my favorite cookbook so it is easier to open, AND he helped me clean 'til our house was SPOTLESS! He even cleaned the leaves out from in front of our door! Spencer took Alice alot so I could rest from my labors with her throughout the week. Despite the fact that Spencer doesn't like dancing, he even took Alice and I to the Valentine Dance and we had a blast!
-- What do a kidney bean, grape, fig, lemon and an avocado have in common?! Not much, haha! Except those are the equivalent sizes the human being growing inside of me has achieved to this point!! Yup, I am pregnant AGAIN! Haha, believe it or not, this was planned! The Lord just decided that it wasn't going to take long to happen that's all. Spencer and I are so excited! We are expecting our little baby to come Aug. 3rd, and I find out soon what we are having. I can't wait! We don't have a preference, we are just elated that we are going to have another baby so soon. Alice will have a playmate! I think I look forward to that too much... haha.
So that is a little about what is going on! We love our little Alice, and we love watching her learn and grow! We are currently watching Star Trek Deep Space 9 and are on Season 4! Yay Worf! Haha! I am still making bows, and I LOVE it! And my doctor ok'd me to train for a triathlon as long as I am listening to my body and taking in enough food and fluids! We shall see if it happens though! I at least try to exercise regularly! Alice makes things a bit complicated now that she is shafting her nap times by half! Oh well, her cuteness makes up for it! I love my Spencer, he is the light of my life, and I am so grateful to be his wife! We are reading scriptures and praying together every day, and I can tell you, that makes all the difference in the world! I love my life! I wouldn't trade it for anything! Until next time....

Yay! So fun to finally read an update on you guys, which is funny because we get to see you here and there. :) Happy you guys are happy and wish you the best for the rest of the pregnancy! Alice is a stinkin cutie!
